Privacy Policy
EFFECTIVE AUGUST 25, 2026 · LAST UPDATED AUGUST 25, 2026
This policy explains what information LearnYard collects when you use learnyard.com, why we collect it, and who processes it on our behalf. We have tried to keep it short and honest: we collect little, we sell nothing, and everything below describes what the product actually does today.
Who we are
LearnYard is a learning platform for data structures & algorithms and system design. Questions about this policy, your data, or your account can always go to support@learnyard.com.
What we collect
Your Google account basics. Signing in with Google is the only way to create a LearnYard account. Through that sign-in we receive your name, email address and profile picture — the standard email and profile scopes, and nothing more. We never see your Google password, and we do not request access to your contacts, calendar, Drive or anything else.
Your learning activity. Which problems you have solved, your streaks, your practice and interview session history, and notes or code you save while practicing. This is the product — without it we could not show you your own progress.
Content you submit to AI features. Code you run in the practice rooms, messages you exchange with the tutor or a mock interviewer, and audio in voice sessions while a session is live.
Purchase records. If you buy a pass we store what you bought and until when it is active. We never receive or store your card number or other payment credentials — see Payments below.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep you signed in.
- To run the product: track your progress, run your code against test cases, hold tutor and interview sessions, and remember where you left off.
- To know which features your pass unlocks.
- To answer your support requests.
- To understand, in aggregate, which pages get visited — see Analytics below.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Where your data lives, and who processes it
Your account and learning data are stored in our database, hosted by Supabase (our authentication and database provider). Beyond that, a small set of processors each handle one specific job:
- Google handles sign-in, and only tells us who you are.
- Dodo Payments processes purchases (see Payments below).
- A code-execution service (Judge0) compiles and runs the code you submit in practice rooms and returns the result. Your code goes there; your identity does not.
- AI model providers process the content of your tutor and interview conversations — your messages, your code in those sessions, and (for voice sessions) your speech — in order to generate the tutor's and interviewer's responses.
- Real-time voice infrastructure (LiveKit) carries the audio of voice sessions between you and the AI tutor or interviewer.
- Vercel hosts the site and provides its analytics (see Analytics below).
Each of these receives only what its job requires. We do not share your data with anyone else, except if the law requires it or to protect the service from abuse.
Payments
Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, a payment provider, reached through our payments gateway. When you start a checkout we pass along your email, your name and the plan you chose so the receipt reaches you; you enter your card details on the payment provider's own pages, and they never pass through or get stored on LearnYard's servers. What we keep is the entitlement: which pass you own and its expiry.
Cookies
We use cookies for exactly one thing: keeping you signed in. These are essential session cookies set by our authentication provider — the site does not work without them, and they identify you only to us. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies. Our page-view analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) is cookieless and does not assign you an identifier.
How long we keep your data
We keep your account and learning data for as long as you have an account, because it is your progress. If you delete your account we delete the personal data associated with it, except records we are legally required to keep (such as purchase records for tax and accounting purposes), which we keep only as long as those laws require.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data. Email support@learnyard.com from the address on your account and we will handle it — the “Delete account” option on your profile page opens that same email for you. Depending on where you live, local law may give you additional rights; we honour reasonable requests regardless of where you are.
Children
LearnYard is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update it here and revise the “Last updated” date at the top. For changes that meaningfully affect what we collect or share, we will make the change noticeable in the product rather than relying on you re-reading this page.
